A few weeks ago, Governor Murphy announced his 2023/2024 budget.
In his budget, Governor Murphy promised to invest more than $1billion in New Jersey’s pre-K programs – an increase of nearly $110 million over this current year. That’s not just an investment in early childhood education, but it’s also an investment in our working families!
The budget provides an additional $830 million in direct aid to our K-12 public school classrooms, and legislative Democrats are working with the Murphy administration to expand that amount to provide much-needed funding to underfunded school districts. The budget also expands both funding and eligibility for grants and programs that will help more New Jersey students attend college without paying out-of-pocket or going into crippling debt just to get a four-year degree!
We’re grateful for a Governor and legislative Democrats who understand how important education is to the success of New Jersey’s future. Team NJDSC |
