Dem AGs have stood will always stand with recipients of DACA
Republicans continue to attack the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and are urging a federal judge to shut down the program. Dem AGs like Arizona AG Kris Mayes are committed to protecting DACA and are defending the program on DACA-recipients’ behalf. Chip in to help us elect more Dem AGs who will fight for immigrants’ rights.
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is an Obama-era policy that protected those who were brought to the U.S. as children. It has been the subject of vicious attacks from Republicans since its inception.
In January, nine GOP AGs urged a federal judge to consider the program’s legality and to shut it down. But Democratic AGs are steadfast in protecting Dreamers and DACA-recipients’ rights. In a state that initially opposed DACA and tried to block it, newly sworn-in Arizona Dem AG Kris Mayes is now fighting back against GOP AGs to protect more than 30,000 DACA-recipients in her state.
Dreamers should not have to live in fear of potential deportation as punishment simply for existing and contributing to the only country they’ve ever known. It is on all of us to protect them in the same way that we look out for any of our other neighbors, regardless of how they came to live in the United States. That’s why electing Democratic Attorneys General in every single state possible is vital.
