[ [link removed]- ]Katie Porter for Senate
John,
Ever since the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision, elections
have gotten more and more expensive.
It’s a reality I’m working to change through legislation—but until we can
pass something meaningful, I’m doing what I can as a candidate: I don’t
take money from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or Big Bank, Big Pharma
or Big Oil CEOs.
But there’s another way to fund a campaign—through the candidate themself.
Take a look at this recent headline ⬇️

rich
Trust me, really rich people are well represented on both sides of the
aisle. As a single-mom of three school aged kids who drives a well-loved
minivan, my life looks different than most of my colleagues.
My fundraising looks different as well. I’m not spending weekends at
retreats with lobbyists, I’m chauffeuring my daughter to her water polo
game, talking with union leaders here in California, and doing
never-ending piles of laundry.
That’s why we count on supporters like you to power our campaign.
Seriously, the bulk of our contributions come from online supporters.
At the end of this month, we have to publicly report how much we’ve raised
to the Federal Election Commission, and I have a goal of bringing in 500
new contributions through this email.

proves that we don’t need corporate PACs or a filthy rich candidate to
win?
