When I reflect over the last few years, I'm absolutely astounded: In the face of a devastating pandemic and economic downturn, my Democratic colleagues and I acted boldly to protect families, small businesses and our most vulnerable.

We made the single largest investment to combat climate change in history. We passed historic legislation to lower costs for everyday Mainers and working families across the country. We enshrined marriage equality into law.

When I look forward to the next two years and beyond, I am so hopeful — but I am also uneasy. Today's Republican majority, led by far-right extremists, are attempting to unravel the decades of progress you and I have secured for generations to come.

When Democrats are in charge, we're putting families and our communities first. We're protecting our environment, lowering the costs of healthcare and prescription drugs, protecting the rights of all people, and building an economy that works for everyone.

That's the future I want for my children and grandchildren — and yours — and that's why I'm writing to you today.

We must begin building a robust, data-driven reelection campaign now to help hold my seat and retake Congress — and I need your help. We're facing our first big FEC fundraising deadline of 2023 and need to raise another $10,000 from grassroots donors to keep our campaign on track.
