Flipping this seat and winning our election in 2018 was hard. Our scrappy team was up against a longtime Republican incumbent backed by a well-oiled Washington machine -- many people counted us out before we even got started, John.

But as tough as winning this seat was, keeping it is going to be even tougher.

Right now our campaign is facing down not one, not two -- but FIVE possible GOP opponents.

The NRCC (the Congressional arm of the Republican machine), is targeting our district and throwing everything but the kitchen sink at us. We need to prepare for all they’ve got and that means having the funds ready to go.

Looking back at my first year in office, there’s so many moments I’m proud of. We made huge progress in the fight to lower prescription drug costs, expand voting rights and stop Washington corruption. Unfortunately, our good work has made special interests and shady Super PACs take notice.

This year they’re going to be coming at us with everything they’ve got to try and take this seat back. But this seat belongs to the people of North Texas.
