Over and over again, Coloradans have been forced to reckon with the consequences of our national gun violence epidemic. Recently, two faculty members of a local Denver high school were shot by a student. The very same high school where a few weeks ago, a 16-year-old student lost their life to gun violence. We can't continue living like this.
Diana knows we have to do more to protect our schools and communities, both at the state and federal levels of government. That's why, for years, she has been at the front of the fight for better gun laws. And she's not afraid of taking on the special interest gun lobby and her extremist colleagues.
Recently, Diana introduced a bill that will ban assault weapons and high-capacity gun magazines nationally. She has consistently pushed for more comprehensive background check legislation. By passing these critical laws, we can get weapons of war off our streets and save lives.
