Last month, we filed a lawsuit in Spokane against the FDA for their unnecessary over-regulation of the abortion pill, mifepristone. My office is leading a coalition of 17 states and the District of Columbia.
This morning, my team and I will be in court for an important hearing in that case to defend reproductive healthcare and access to mifepristone.
Meanwhile, in a different case, anti-abortion activists are asking a Trump-appointed federal judge in Texas to ban mifepristone nationwide —
including states like Washington where abortion is legal.
If we are successful in our case, however, access to mifepristone will remain protected in Washington and in all of the states that joined our coalition.
