NAFCU member testifying on CFPB’s 1071 rulemaking today

NAFCU member Mike Wilson will testify today on the association’s behalf – the only credit union trade representative on the witness panel – as the House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access explores how the CFPB’s section 1071 rulemaking, related to small business lending data collection, will impact financial institutions and the small businesses they serve.

Thaler reiterates safety, soundness of CUs ahead of bank failure hearing

NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler Monday submitted a letter to the Senate Banking Committee ahead of its hearing this morning to examine the Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank collapses. In the letter, Thaler reaffirmed that the credit union industry “remains a strong, well capitalized and safe place for consumers,” touting the unique non-profit, cooperative structure of credit unions. 

Deadline Friday: Participate in executive compensation, benefits survey

NAFCU and Gallagher’s executive compensation and benefits survey – which informs a comprehensive resource for credit unions to benchmark their own executive compensation and benefits program – is open for participation. Credit unions of all asset sizes and charter types are invited to participate; the deadline to submit is Friday.
