A few weeks ago, I reached out to let you know that I was named part of the Frontline program run by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. They’ve identified my seat as one of the most competitive across the country — and rightfully so.

Last year, I was able to win two toss-up races because of your relentless belief in me and our shared values. You sent words of encouragement, wrote postcards, put up signs, and pitched in hard-earned money to help me get our message out to voters. We overcame millions in spending by Republican groups targeting me. You stood by me through thick and thin, and I know I can count on your support as we look to 2024.

This election will be different — we have time to build sustainable, long-lasting campaign infrastructure. We’re going to have organizers on the ground early, reminding folks in our district about the stakes of this election.

But we can only get a head start if we have folks chipping in year-round. I don’t accept corporate PAC money. But Republicans will be flush with dark money cash, and we know their attacks will start soon.

Today, I was named one of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline members. Only a small number of House Democrats were added to this program to support the most critical races in the country. Being named a “Frontliner” means this will be one of the most competitive districts in the 2024 election, and that means it will take serious, early investment to hold this seat.

Last year, I was the only Democrat to win a swing seat in New York — and we did so by a 1-point margin.

Our campaign resonated with voters across the Hudson Valley: we delivered a clear message about the stakes of our election and focused on tangible differences we could make in people’s lives.

The House Republican campaign arm has already named me a top-five target to defeat — and with that comes a flood of GOP spending.
