The candidates we recruit now, like in past years, will become progressive champions who challenge the political establishment and fight alongside leaders like AOC, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and Summer Lee — but only if we have the resources to support them.

Our endorsed candidates are fighting for bold, progressive solutions to our current crises in Congress, and transforming the Democratic Party while they work. Here’s what a few of our JD candidates from past years have been up to:

• As Congresswoman, Summer Lee is tackling the environmental racism that harms communities like the one she represents. She recently joined with western Pennsylvania leaders to celebrate federal funding that will go toward community-level air quality monitoring and keeping our neighbors safe.
• Cori Bush joined other Justice Democrats in reintroducing the Justice For All Act — the most comprehensive environmental justice legislation in history that would expand civil rights and protect our communities from discrimination.
• Last week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke out on the House floor against the bills in states across the country banning books that focus on race, the LGBTQ+ community and more. Republicans are banning books like “The Life of Rosa Parks” — we deserve leaders who will fight back against that kind of fascism.
• As one of Congress’s only former educators, Jamaal Bowman understands the importance of education equity in racial and economic justice. That’s why he introduced the More Teaching Less Testing Act created to provide opportunities and design systems that support high quality teaching and learning.
• But that’s not all — there are even more Justice Democrats in Congress fighting for policies that actually address the needs of our communities and shifting the conversation about what’s politically possible in Washington.

With your support, we’ve had some incredible victories over the last few years. We recruited AOC, Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, and Summer Lee to run for Congress — and worked with their campaigns all the way from day one through victory.
