Dear John,

Puerto Rico just experienced a series of devastating earthquakes. Meanwhile, the Trump Administration is continuing its insidious policy of withholding
humanitarian aid.

Please add your name to the petition right now: Demand with us that Trump
immediately release the funds allocated to Puerto Rico.

In recent weeks, over 500 earthquakes have shaken the island! Seismologist
forecast additional quakes are likely to occur.

This only exacerbates the suffering of islanders still reeling from the climate catastrophes of 2017.

Join us in demanding that Trump immediately release approved federal funds and
ease the suffering of those affected by earthquakes and climate disasters.

Two years ago, Hurricanes Irma and Maria decimated the island, crippled the
power grid and killed thousands. Puerto Rico has not recovered from these
hurricanes, largely because most of the $20 billion of aid allocated by Congress
has been illegally withheld by the Trump Administration for over a year!

Recently, under intense pressure from Democrats, Trump finally announced that he
would release $8.2 billion - but now it’s unclear when even that money will
flow. Unlike aid given to other American disaster sites, relief for Puerto Rico
is conditioned on burdensome and questionable restrictions.

We refuse to tolerate this double standard. At the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, we are working hard to ensure that
the people hurt by climate catastrophes are not held hostage to their own
government. But we need your help.

Sign the petition. Join us in rejecting overt bigotry and demand that Trump and
his Administration release much needed funds to Puerto Rico.

The people of Puerto Rico are fellow American citizens. They are victims of a
climate crisis they did little to create. Help us make sure the people of Puerto
Rico get the dignity, respect and aid they deserve.

Sincerely,

Mike Tidwell
Executive Director
Chesapeake Climate Action Network
