Our mission to elect Democratic pro-choice women is personal for me. In addition to being the president of EMILYs List, I'm Nylah's mom, and I can't stand the thought of my daughter growing up in a world where she has less freedom than I did at her age.
That's what motivates me day in and day out: I want my daughter to grow up in a world where no one — especially not anti-choice extremist politicians — can tell her what to do with her body. I want her to live in a country where she sees women like her in political office standing up for our rights. And, one day, I want my daughter to see firsthand that no dream is out of reach for women like us — not even winning the presidency.
