Dear Friend,

Great news! On Friday, Congress voted overwhelmingly (311-113) to defeat a private school voucher proposal by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX). Roy’s proposal would have effectively created a new nationwide school voucher program and gutted funding for public schools with high concentrations of poverty and high-need students.

Friend, thanks to you, Congress heard us loud and clear: We don’t want private school vouchers! But we still need your help to keep up the pressure so that Congress rejects all voucher proposals, today and in the future.

Please use this quick and easy form ([link removed]) to thank your representative if they voted against vouchers, and explain why vouchers are bad news if your representative voted in favor.

It’s vital for our communities and our democracy that we keep public funds in public schools. Last week’s vote was a huge victory for public education and church-state separation, and a blow to attempts to funnel public funds to private, mostly religious schools through vouchers.

Let’s keep up the momentum – contact your Member of Congress today! With your support, we’ll continue to fight for both religious freedom and public education for all: [link removed]

Thanks for taking the time to make your voice heard on this issue.
