In more unfortunate WHAT THE FUCK alarming trends, Ohio will not be outdone. Following in the steps of Mississippi (where you just can’t have a ballot initiative on abortion) and Tennessee (where there are no citizen-initiated constitutional amendments unless you're an elected official), Ohio lawmakers have not only introduced raising the threshold to pass a state constitutional amendment from 50% plus one vote to 60%, but to hold the vote on it during a special August election…you know, coincidentally right before Ohioans are set to potentially vote on the amendment proposal, ‘The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety’. Gee, we wonder why they’re ramming this through…what a mystery… |
