TikTok Generation: A Chinese Communist Party Official in Every Pocket |
Clear and present danger: Today’s most popular social media app poses a distinct threat to American citizens, concludes Tech Policy Center director Kara Frederick.
- “Data-collection and exploitation practices, abuses of privacy, propagation of influence operations, and promotion of social contagions that rend America’s social fabric” are just some of the ways the Chinese Communist Party exploits TikTok’s popularity, she writes.
- “TikTok is destroying our youth,” says Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik at a Heritage event on Capitol Hill. Read more here.
- Frederick talks about her findings on “The Kevin Roberts Show.” Listen here.
Ban it: The risks posed by TikTok are severe enough that The Heritage Foundation recommends a wholesale ban of its operations in the United States. Read Frederick’s comprehensive report here.
