John — can I explain what this FEC deadline in five days means to our campaign?
On March 31, we’re facing our first end-of-quarter fundraising deadline since launching this campaign for Senate. It’s critical our campaign can show that we have a strong, grassroots team behind us, and here’s why:
Republicans have gone all-in to attack me from the minute I announced my campaign.
It actually started right before that: Mere hours before I launched my campaign, Kevin McCarthy made good on his threat to remove me from the Intelligence Committee unilaterally.
He even doubled down on his attacks against me in a recent speech to GOP activists, saying I “should never become senator for California.”
Donald Trump is attacking me relentlessly.
Tucker Carlson and the entire Fox News machine would like nothing better than to see me lose.
The Republican Party has put its full weight into keeping me from serving Californians.
And they are prepared to pile on if we fall short of this month's goal. After our fundraising is released to the public, they will comb through every single statistic to see any sign of vulnerability. Everything from how much we’ve raised to the number of grassroots donors who’ve joined our campaign thus far.
