Let’s rewind: It’s 2016. Bernie Sanders shocked the establishment and
mounted a historic challenge for the Democratic nomination. And then — the
Democratic establishment lost against Trump.

It was clear that the party insiders and political machine could not be
trusted to protect our democracy or fight for our people. We needed a new
path forward.

So we built it ourselves. Justice Democrats was formed by people who gave
our all to the progressive movement Bernie brought together and we’re
ready to create the infrastructure to keep the momentum going for years to
come.

We set out to change Congress by recruiting and electing a diverse slate
of working people who share real-life experiences with the communities
they represent. And we have, thanks to support from thousands of people
like you who share our vision.

receive from emails like this one. So we’re humbly asking: Will you donate
$3 to help us reach our critical $250,000 end-of-quarter
goal?

Our mission is simple. But when our politics has been consumed by
corporate money, elections favor entrenched incumbents, and far-right
groups like AIPAC are laser-focused on taking our candidates down, it
takes an incredible amount of work just to get regular, working people
elected to Congress.

That needs to change, and we will change it — but right now, we still need
major resources to pull off the scale of work we have to do to find AND
elect new Justice Democrats.

It’s our job to think about the long-term, which is why we’ve already
started our 2024 candidate recruitment. Planning this far in advance gives
us the time to go deep into communities to find our future leaders — that
can’t be rushed. It’s too important.
