Even though United We Dream is fighting for more permanent protections for immigrant youth than DACA, we’d be lying if we failed to acknowledge just how critical the program is to the lives of immigrant youth.
As a DACA recipient myself, I can speak to just how life changing it can be — impacting everything from education, to job opportunities, to wages, on top of the peace of mind that comes with obtaining legal status after living under the fear of deportation.
But there are still so many barriers standing in the way of immigrant youth securing DACA status. From constant right-wing attacks, to processing backlogs, to hundreds of dollars in application fees, renewing your DACA status is no easy task.
United We Dream wants to help, so we set up the DACA Renewal Fund. All donations to the fund will go directly towards covering the cost of application and renewal fees for DACA recipients.
Last year alone, we covered the $495 renewal fee for 600 DACA recipients thanks to the generous support of grassroots donors. And with your help, we can exceed that total in 2023 and help hundreds more DACA recipients in the process.
