On Thursday, it was announced that self-described “Woke” Defense Department official, Kelisa Wing, has been reassigned after nearly a year of Elise's advocacy. Last September, Elise wrote a letter to the Department of Defense requesting a response to Wing’s racist tweets about White people. It was only THREE hours before their hearing on Thursday that the Department of Defense responded claiming Wing was removed, not fired, due to “restructuring”.

“I have a feeling that has to do with the fact that we [Republicans] have shined light on this.”
