It’s simple: Biden should not have a say in where your retirement money goes.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what he wants.
The Biden administration’s Labor Department issued a reckless new rule allowing ESG investing, or Environmental, Social, and Governance investing, in employer-sponsored retirement plans. This means that people who manage retirement accounts will face pressure to consider woke, leftist priorities when deciding where to invest your hard-earned dollars.
Wall Street should have one focus: maximizing your returns, not funneling money towards Biden’s Far Left political agenda.
Under this rule, investment “risks” include carbon emissions and diversity quotas, even if the investment would otherwise be profitable for the investor. 142 million Americans would be subject to this rule, meaning your retirement accounts will consider Biden’s needs before your own. This will have real financial impacts, especially for people nearing retirement; over the past five years, ESG investment funds have performed nearly three percentage points below the broader markets returns. In fact, investors are exposed to more risk when investing in ESG, leaving American savers with less.
Less? In this economy? No thanks!
This rule is so radical that Democrats in both the House and Senate joined Republicans in sending a bill to Biden’s desk that would block it. Instead of listening to these bipartisan lawmakers and their constituents, Biden vetoed it, because he puts his agenda ahead of the Americans he is supposed to represent.
With the stroke of Biden’s pen, he made a potentially devastating decision about your money.
That’s exactly why we should leave financial decisions to the experts, not left-wing activists.

Monday, March 20, 2023: At the beginning of each session, both the Republican and Democratic conferences hold an issues conference to discuss policy and plan for the new session of Congress. The Democrats held their conference a few weeks ago, and yesterday we began our 3-day conference in Orlando, FL. The conferences are run by the Congressional Institute, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping members of Congress better serve their constituents, in this case by an examination of important policy issues and strategic planning.
After our opening session yesterday afternoon, we had a briefing on the current political landscape in the country and how it might impact the roll out of our major policy initiatives.
Afterwards, we had a very interesting and sobering foreign policy strategic table top exercise where chairs of committees of jurisdiction discussed a scenario of China invading Taiwan. Later, we had a presentation by Pat Lencioni, author of The Five Behaviors, a way for teams to rethink their approach to teamwork and shape new behaviors.
This morning, we have a House Leadership town hall discussion led by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), before having an economic update on the country’s banking situation led by leadership from the House Financial Services Committee.
Next, we have a fiscal plenary session presented by the committees of jurisdiction, including the Budget Committee before hearing from Rich Lowry, the Editor-in-Chief of the National Review.
After lunch, we have presentations on securing America’s border, reducing crime and protecting public safety, building a strong economy, and protecting our kids and giving parents a voice. After a session on effective public speaking tips, our dinner speakers are Eric Herschmann, former senior advisor to former President Donald Trump, and our former colleague and now Fox News Host Trey Gowdy, who give us pointers on how to prepare for committee hearings.

Tuesday, March 21, 2023: After volunteering with other members at the USO Care Package event where we stuff gift packages to be sent to our troops overseas, I have an interview with Gray TV to discuss the progress of the conference thus far.
Next, I head to a great presentation on working together as a team by former NFL quarterback Drew Brees, as he shares his experiences of different teammates who made an impact on his career throughout the years.
Our final presentation before we head out is by members of committees of jurisdiction on making America energy independent again.

Following a meeting with Cynthia Fisher, the founder and Chairman of Patient Rights Advocate (PRA), a group that advocates for systemwide health care price transparency, I have a call with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) commissioner Brendan Carr to discuss tomorrow’s TikTok hearing.
Next, I have an introductory meeting with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Atlanta Field Office Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Keri Farley, the highest-ranking FBI Agent in Georgia. Thursday, March 23, 2023: While every day is a big day in Congress, today is an exceptionally big day as we are set to hear from the CEO of TikTok in the E&C committee.
My day starts very early as I have a live interview on Fox and Friends First at 5:15 this morning to discuss what we can expect from the TikTok hearing. Later, I head to our weekly Doctors caucus meeting where our guest is Rosemary Gibson, author of China Rx, as we discuss the national security risk of medications being made in China.
Next, I have a meeting off of Capitol Hill with the American Optometric Association before having a live interview on Newsmax to discuss the TikTok hearing.
After our weekly GOP member conference, I head to the much-anticipated E&C Full Committee hearing with the CEO of TikTok, Shou Chew. Even by congressional standards, the onslaught of media coverage is exceptional with cameras overflowing both inside and outside of the meeting room. While the hearing starts at 10AM, there is an agreement that we will recess at noon for a break and for votes. Fortunately, I’m able to get my questions in before our break and afterwards I’m able to head to a Budget committee hearing with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Shalanda Young to discuss the President’s FY24 Budget Request before heading to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the day.
After votes, I host a meeting of the members of the Georgia delegation and NOAA to discuss their proposed rule to reduce ship speeds off the coast of Georgia. Following an interview with NBC News to discuss the TikTok hearing, I head to my office where I have meetings with the Paper Recycling Coalition, my good friend Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President and CEO of Morehouse School of Medicine, Brain Aneurysm Foundation, Housing and Redevelopment officials, and Ardelyx.
Next, I have an interview with the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) to discuss the TikTok hearing before heading back to E&C where we begin a markup of 19 bills. After completing a little over half of the bills, we recess for our second vote series of the day and afterwards I remain in the Chamber to pay tribute to my good friend, Dr. William Clark from Waycross, before returning to my office for a live interview on Kennedy on Fox Business to discuss the TikTok hearing.
