As we’ve said, this election poses a huge threat to our democracy, considering the GOP paid the conservative candidate to help them overturn the 2020 election and that Wisconsin’s Supreme Court decided to uphold Joe Biden’s victory by just one vote.

But we’re not just fighting to protect the status quo and prevent the nightmare scenario of an overturned election. We’re fighting for a better future.

This is a state that elected a Republican senator by just one point in 2022, was decided by even less in both of the past two presidential elections and has such extremely gerrymandered congressional maps that six of its eight districts lean Republican by six points or more.

Just by ensuring the state’s election rules are fair, a progressive WI Supreme Court majority could change all of that. Overturning the state’s gerrymandered maps and wiping away decades of voter suppression could easily shift the partisan balance of a key battleground state and, therefore, the nation.
