Team,
Yesterday, I wrote to you about my comprehensive, bipartisan plan to address TikTok and the next generation of foreign technology threats. Now today, I want to take a moment to tell you about how else I’m working to hold Big Tech accountable.
This work isn’t just about TikTok, it’s about safeguarding our national security and making the internet a safer, fairer place. As Big Tech’s power over our economy, our private data, and how we use the internet becomes more and more alarming, I’m fighting to reform the tech industry – but I can’t do it alone. Can you donate anything you can afford right now to support my work to protect you, your privacy, and your data?

Here are just a few of the bills I’ve introduced to get this done:
*My SAFE TECH Act would reform “Section 230,” a law that shields tech companies from liability for harms that take place on their platforms. The bill finally holds tech giants accountable for harmful, often criminal behavior – dangerous scams, harassment, or violent extremism – that they tolerate on their platforms.
*For many tech companies, their top priority is accessing Americans’ private data, while Americans lack the ability to move their private data to apps and platforms with stronger privacy protections. My bipartisan ACCESS Act would give folks more control over their online interactions by requiring large platforms to allow users to move their data to third-party moderation services.
*And my Honest Ads Act brings long-overdue transparency and accountability to online political ads by requiring platforms to abide by the same disclosure requirements as broadcasters for online political advertising and take active steps to combat foreign elections interference.
I’m also using my platform in the Senate to push powerful tech companies to take responsibility for harms committed on their platforms. For example, I recently pressed Meta to step up and make needed investments to combat hate globally, knowing that Facebook has continuously fueled and amplified racial, religious, and ethnic violence across the world.
From greater clarity about data collection to holding platforms accountable for fraudulent political advertising, I’m fighting to build a more transparent, equitable internet, because you deserve to be safe online.
If you agree, join me by chipping in $5 or more right now to support my work to control the enormous power Big Tech holds over our lives >> [link removed]
