Friend:
The arrival of spring means more to me this year than just blooming cherry blossoms – it means AU’s inaugural Summit for Religious Freedom (SRF) is just around the corner on April 22-24!
Just this week we announced many of the speakers and panelists who will be leading breakout sessions, discussions and other activities at SRF. Because church-state separation undergirds a number of important freedoms and issues, our conference will be covering a breadth of topics, including abortion rights and reproductive freedom, dying with dignity, workers’ rights, youth activism, LGBTQ equality, racial justice, fighting Christian Nationalism, protecting public schools, defeating private school vouchers, and above all, defending religious freedom and our democracy.
We’ll hear from several Members of Congress, as well as some featured speakers who will be announced in the next few weeks – stay tuned! Thank you to those of you who signed up for Lobby Day on April 24th (all Lobby Day slots are now filled). I cannot wait for us to flood the halls of Congress to advocate for the Do No Harm Act, because religious freedom should never license discrimination and harm to people.
There are only a few slots left for the in-person SRF, so register now before it’s too late if you plan to join us in Washington, D.C. If you cannot make it in person, please join us for the virtual sessions of SRF.
This will be the first major in-person gathering AU has hosted since the pandemic began. I’m so excited that we’re able to be together in community, and still make parts of SRF accessible online. Together, we will help spark a national recommitment to separate church and state. Get pumped. It’s going to be great!
With hope and determination,
