Transit service update March 27 - April 2

King County Metro will operate all bus routes Monday, March 27, through Sunday, April 2, although some individual weekday bus trips will be canceled. All weekend routes and trips are expected to operate as scheduled.

Fleet repairs continue and our maintenance crews are focused on returning buses to service, as well as working with vendors to stabilize the supply chain challenges affecting our industry. We appreciate your patience while we complete this important work. We also continue to face workforce availability challenges and are actively recruiting [ [link removed] ], training and promoting operators to deliver our service.

Survey: Help plan bus service changes in Capitol Hill, Central District, First Hill and Madison Valley

King County Metro is exploring changes and improvements to bus routes *10, 11, 12 and 47* in the Madison Street area so riders can better connect to transit and get to where they need to go. We want to hear from *you* on bus service in the communities surrounding this transit corridor.

Changes to service in this area will support Metro’s future RapidRide G Line [ [link removed] ] developed in partnership with the Seattle Department of Transportation and set to begin service in late 2024. The RapidRide G Line will bring more frequent and reliable bus service along the Madison Street corridor between Madison Valley and downtown Seattle.

Women’s History Month: What would an inclusive and equitable workplace look like for you?
text "celebrating Women's history month at Metro" with a yellow background and a profile of a womans face and hair

"By Christina O’Claire, Director of King County Metro’s Mobility Division"

As we near the end of Women’s History Month, I would like to take a moment to extend my appreciation for all women at Metro. The work we do as a mobility agency is vital to our community, and I am honored to work alongside incredibly talented individuals who are committed to our mission. I recognize that the fight for women’s rights and gender justice is still ongoing. The transit industry has historically been male-dominated and many of our divisions continue to see that disparity, as reflected in the data from the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program Report shared earlier this month.

Looking forward, as we continue our work towards building a workplace where employees can thrive, we asked members of the Women of Metro Empowerment Network (WOMEN) ERG to share their ideal qualities of workplace culture, what it would look like as equitable and inclusive, and any advice they would share with other women. You can read what they shared on the Metro Matters blog.

Be a voice for equal access! Apply to join Access Paratransit Advisory Committee

The community voice for these riders is the Access Paratransit Advisory Committee (APAC). Committee membership is comprised of Access riders, family members of Access riders, representatives of organizations that provide services to Access riders and representatives of organizations that support Access riders who have limited English proficiency.

APAC is recruiting new members for eight open positions in King County Council Districts 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9. Each member is appointed by the County Executive and approved by the County Council to serve a two-year term.

The committee meets monthly or as needed to complete its work plan and address other issues as they arise. There may be additional work outside of the meeting to read materials.

We encourage all riders, including youth, persons of color, persons with disabilities or limited English proficiency to apply.

Applications must be received by April 30. Apply to the Access Paratransit Advisory Committee at: [link removed]
