Hi John,
My name is Ray Epstein and I’m a sophomore at Temple University. At the start of my freshman year here at Temple, I quickly realized there was no active movement advocating against sexual assault on my campus. I was baffled by the absence, and dedicated my entire first year to rebuilding the abandoned organization Student Activists Against Sexual Assault or SAASA from the ground up.
When I first heard of Alexandra Hunt, I learned she, like myself, was a survivor of abuse. As I began preparing for the launch of my current student government campaign, InnovateTU, I looked to Alexandra.
Alexandra has been and continues to be an ardent supporter of survivors and those voices which go unheard. She works fervently to destigmatize sex work, shatter stereotypes, and amplify underrepresented groups.
Just like Alexandra, our group is fueled by the experiences of the survivors, advocates, and overlooked peers whom we encounter. SAASA firmly believes that Alexandra will make a difference like no one has before her — that's why our organization has endorsed Alexandra for City Controller.
As City Controller, Alexandra will ensure the city’s funds are being managed appropriately, including for the support of survivors. We are confident she will make the necessary adjustments and corrections to ensure better outcomes for Philadelphians who have been historically disadvantaged.
Student Activists Against Sexual Assault enthusiastically supports the campaign of Alexandra Hunt for City Controller — and we hope you'll join us too.
