Turkey talk!?

Spring is known for many things, including turkey hunting. Get ready for the upcoming spring turkey season with this DIY turkey call.?

DIY turkey call

Did you know? Turkeys communicate year-round through various calls. Male turkeys depend on their specialized gobbles during mating season to attract a potential mate, and females announce their location and readiness for mating through various yelps. Hunters utilize man-made calls to mimic the gobbles and yelps of mating turkeys. Replicating turkey calls entices a dominant tom into the shooting range of a hunter?s firearm or bow. After hearing the sounds of a nearby hen or spotting a hunter?s decoys, eager toms display their mating ritual by puffing their chests, pulling their heads in and fanning their tail feathers. While the toms are focused on attracting the hens, the onlooking hunter has a perfect opportunity to prepare for a quick, clean shot.
