Holding China Accountable

Select Committee on the CCP Hearing on the Ongoing Uyghur Genocide

I participated in the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) hearing on the ongoing Uyghur genocide. I shared the stories of Radio Free Asia journalists who were directly targeted by the CCP and framed as terrorists simply for reporting the truth on the CCP's human rights atrocities. The CCP kept detailed and often falsified information about the journalists and their families, and in some cases, detained their family members. Watch the video here.

Conversation with Speaker McCarthy

This week, I joined Speaker McCarthy for a conversation on the Select Committee on the CCP and the work we are doing to hold the CCP accountable and stop taxpayer dollars from going to Communist China – every dime sent there is being used against us and to perpetrate their gross human rights abuses. Watch more of our conversation here.

National Ag Week

This week, we celebrated National Ag Week, an important opportunity to recognize Iowa farmers and producers who feed and fuel the world. I will continue to advocate for legislation that takes into account the vast challenges facing our farmers every single day and supports their work!

Women Out Front

This week, I joined The Hill to discuss being a working mom and a Member of Congress in my opinion, there are no two better jobs! We have a record number of women serving in Congress and I am so proud to serve alongside strong, conservative women who are making a difference for their communities and country. Watch our full conversation here.

Parents Bill of Rights

There has been a disturbing trend across the nation of parents being sidelined from their child’s education. We’ve even seen it in Linn-Mar schools, with the school board implementing a policy that allows children to change their gender identity at school without parental consent or notification.

As a mom of two young boys, I believe this is radical and wrong. Parents deserve to know what is going on with their children at school during these foundational and formational years of their lives, all children deserve to have the best possible educational experience. I was proud to help introduce the Parents Bill of Rights, legislation to ensure parents are the primary stakeholders in their child’s education, and am glad the bill passed the House this week!

I am happy to announce that my office is accepting submissions for the 2023 Congressional Art Competition!
