[ [link removed] ]Sign the petition to protect trans youth and tell extremists that the
government should not interfere with gender-affirming care.

Dear MoveOn member,

The fight for trans rights is now federal. For the first time in history,
Congress has introduced the very first bill directly attacking transgender
youth nationwide. H.R.734 would effectively ban trans kids from playing
sports—just because they’re trans.^1 But we know it’s not just about
sports—this is the first of many attacks on the freedom of transgender
people to simply be who they are. It doesn't end there: Across the United
States, even more state-level anti-trans bills are passing every day that
will push trans people out of public life.^2

Instead of focusing on bills that would promote the safety and health of
all of us, a few extremist members and their base are choosing to fight to
prevent transgender youth from being in safe environments. [ [link removed] ]We must tell
Congress that our government should not interfere with the care we
receive, the curriculum our schools teach, or the freedom to be ourselves.

Demand Congress protect our kids' freedom to be who they are!

This year alone, dozens of proposed bills would require schools to out
trans students against their will, regardless of the risk of harmful
consequences at school or at home.^3 These forced outing bills claim to
protect parents’ rights, but they do no such thing. Instead, these bills
endanger trans students, who have the right not to be outed and to be
treated with dignity and respect, especially where they learn.

Research shows that when kids have the freedom to play sports and be
themselves, they build stronger bonds with their friends, their schools,
and their communities.^4 Title IX requires schools to adopt inclusive
policies in order to provide these opportunities for all students,
regardless of gender—including transgender students. H.R.734 would
directly contradict Title IX policies. Send a message to your member of
Congress now by signing the petition and demanding they protect trans
rights by opposing this bill.
