The ripple effect of DeSantis’ attacks on immigrants is already being felt nationwide — with politicians across the country attempting to follow in his footsteps. In just the past two months, DeSantis has:  

• Signed Senate Bill 6B, a law that allows Florida to expel asylum seekers out of state, replicating the stunt he pulled last year in which he used millions of taxpayer dollars to fly asylum seekers across the country to Martha’s Vineyard.


• Proposed forcing hospitals to collect data on patients’ immigration status; prohibiting local governments from issuing ID cards to undocumented immigrants; and undermining young immigrants’ ability to go to college by eliminating in-state tuition rates for them.


• Suggested pressing criminal charges against any Floridian who provides transport or shelter to a broad category of immigrants.

It’s crystal clear: A DeSantis administration would be devastating for immigrant communities across the country. We cannot afford four years of DeSantis-led attacks on our communities and our rights, and that’s why we must build as much political power as possible now to ensure it does not happen.
