PROTECTING AMERICAN AGRICULTURE'S PRODUCTIVITY, PROFITABILITY, AND COMPETITIVENESS
Agriculture is the beating heart of the American economy and the lifeblood of our rural main streets in Iowa. From hog farmers in Sioux County to corn growers in Washington County, farming runs through our veins in rural America — and federal policy must complement our proud traditions; not inhibit our productivity.
For our country to remain the breadbasket of the world, we must pass a strong Farm Bill that protects the productivity, profitability, and competitiveness of American farmers, producers and our agricultural community.

PARENTS BILL OF RIGHTS PASSES U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Honoring our Commitment to America, House Republicans passed the Parents Bill of Rights today so that every parent has a voice in their children's education.
Following years of lockdowns, mask mandates, and school closures, it’s clear that parents should have a stronger voice in our educational system than unelected bureaucrats and teachers unions. As a father of four, I am proud to join my colleagues in passing the Parents Bill of Rights Act to ensure that every parent has a voice and every child can succeed.

As the second largest exporter of agricultural goods, trade is vital to Iowa’s economy.

TALKING TAX POLICY ON CAPITOL HILL
Earlier this week, I met with tax professionals about how we can reform our tax code to compete with the outside world — particularly China — and create American jobs.
We also talked about the ills of Pillar Two, our nearly $1-trillion trade deficit, and my work to extend vital provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

WE CAN NO LONGER IGNORE OUR DEBT CRISIS
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects that, over the next decade, we will spend $10.5 trillion in taxpayer dollars to service the interest alone on our $31.6 trillion national debt.
We need to end wasteful spending and get our fiscal house in order — period.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: MAIN STREET AMERICA CAN BENEFIT FROM QUANTUM COMPUTING
From fertilizer production to materials manufacturing, quantum computing has the power to lower input costs for our farmers, improve energy storage and battery technologies, and produce safer medications for patients.
That's why, this week, I reintroduced my Quantum in Practice Act to ensure that our main streets, farmers, and small businesses can realize the real benefits of quantum computing, not just in theory, but in practice.
