We hope you’ve had a nice week! On Monday, our friends, loved ones, and neighbors in Florence were impacted by a devastating fire at the Fountain of Life Church. We are sending our love to the church’s community and will continue to stay in touch with them and the local police and fire department to help the recovery in any way we can.

UPCOMING: Join Congressman Kim’s Telephone Town Hall this Monday!

On Monday at 5:30 PM, Congressman Kim is hosting a telephone town hall to hear from neighbors and share updates from his work in Congress on behalf of New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District. He will be joined by Dr. Jacquelin Agostini to honor Women’s History Month and will also discuss legislation he’s been pushing forward this congress to support mental health initiatives, military families, and local small businesses.

That’s a Wrap on Zachary and Congressman Kim’s Interview!

Thank you for following-along for more of Zachary’s interview with Congressman Kim! Over the weekend and on Monday, we shared Zachary’s question about why the Congressman cleaned up the Capitol after January 6th and their conversation about Congressman Kim’s experiences facing discrimination for being Asian American. We are just so impressed and grateful for Zachary’s care with these questions and wish him all the best with the rest of 1st-grade. We know he’s going to rock this project!

Supporting Local Small Businesses!

Congressman Kim spoke with Patricia, CEO and President of Jidan Cleaning based in Medford! They spoke about her path as an entrepreneur and the experiences of being a woman-owned and black-owned business. Patricia’s advice for others trying to launch a business is “come to everything.”

Back in Washington later in the week, Congressman Kim met with the NJ Pride Chamber and the Statewide Hispanic Chamber. The Congressman works to ensure more diverse small businesses and entrepreneurs from all backgrounds have the tools and resources they need to not just survive, but to thrive across New Jersey.

A History Lesson for Women’s History Month

Congressman Kim attended a class of the “Shining A Light on (Her)story” series held at Rowan College at BUrlington County and Burlington County Libraries. The series dives into the history and power of female pioneers and is presented by Dr. Jacquelin Agostini, our special tele-town hall guest this Monday!

Congressman Kim on State Department Ending Discriminatory Assignment Restrictions

This week, the State Department ended their discriminatory “assignment restriction” policy that prevented people from working on issue areas because of their religion or family heritage. This step embraces diversity in our workforce that will strengthen our country’s diplomacy. Congressman Kim previously joined colleagues in introducing the Accountability in Assignment Restrictions Act to reform the practice of Assignment Restrictions at the State Department.

Our People Must be Put First, Congressman Kim Affirms the Positive Impact of DEI Initiatives on our Armed Forces

At this week’s Military Personnel Subcommittee Hearing, Ranking Member Kim spoke about how diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives support the growth and success of our armed forces. In his opening statement, he urged to not look at how these initiatives have worked hand in hand to building an effective and formidable military.
