Friend,

Tens of thousands of people die from soot pollution every year. EPA's new soot rule wouldn't change that.

EPA's rule would allow Big Polluters to keep pumping dangerous levels of soot into our air. We have one last chance to demand they keep us safe with a stronger rule that aligns with the science.

We're up against the deadline to submit an official public comment in favor of a stronger soot rule. We saw you hadn't signed a comment yet—we need you to join thousands of other Evergreen supporters and be an advocate now. It only takes a few seconds.

Soot pollution increases rates of infant mortality, cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment, diabetes, and more. And as is all too often the case, these horrible burdens are disproportionately borne by low-income communities and communities of color. Stronger soot rules will also cut the carbon pollution driving the climate crisis.

EPA is legally required to read every public comment. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard. All you have to do is sign your name, and we'll take care of the rest—but we need to receive your response by midnight.

We all deserve to breathe clean air. Thank you for your advocacy today to ensure we have the strongest possible soot standards and healthier communities.

Onward,

Charles Harper
