Hi John,
You forced Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to tell the truth.
Trudeau finally fessed up and admitted he stayed in the $6,000 per night luxury hotel suite in London, England during the Queen’s funeral.
For months, Trudeau has been dodging questions about who stayed in the room. The government even cited security and privacy issues when it blacked out the name on documents we forced it to release through an access to information request.
Then hundreds of taxpayers like you chipped in to hire a lawyer and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation started a legal fight to force the prime minister to come clean.
It was a miracle: suddenly the security and privacy issues disappeared.
Trudeau knew he was going to lose in court. That’s why he finally admitted that he stayed in the $6,000 per night hotel room. You think he would have come clean if taxpayers like you hadn’t lawyered up?
This is a big victory for transparency and now we need to take the next step.
You shouldn’t be forced to pay for Trudeau’s $6,000 per night hotel room.
You can join thousands of other Canadians and demand that Trudeau pay back the hotel expense. You can sign the online PETITION here: https://www.taxpayer.com/petitions/pay-back-the-6000-per-night-hotel-expense
Nobody’s saying the government should have booked a dive, but top-shelf hotels including the Four Seasons, the Langham, the Savoy, even the Shangri La all offer lower prices.
The prime minister wasted your money and we need to crank up the pressure. This petition is an important step. Please sign it and stay tuned because we’re making plans to turn up the heat and we need thousands of taxpayers to help. You can sign the petition here.
Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
Sincerely,
- Franco, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
