It is officially Spring, warm weather is hopefully here to stay, and we are continuing our work across New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District with our small business owners! With years of service on the House Small Business Committee, Congressman Kim is passionate about working to meet the unique needs of New Jersey’s entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Congressman Kim’s Committee Assignments Finalized for 118th Congress

In early February, Congressman Kim was appointed to the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. This Congress, he also returned to the House Armed Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Congressman Kim Announces Two New Office Locations Across New Jersey’s 3rd District

We are excited to share that we have two new offices opening in Mercer and Monmouth Counties! This month, Congressman Kim enjoyed welcoming so many to his new District Office in Hamilton and looks forward to opening the new office soon in Freehold to continue helping connect you to federal resources. In the meantime, you can contact us through our website and at our Willingboro and Washington, D.C. offices.

Direct Relief Coming to Mercer County Small Businesses

We were excited to share great news that more relief will become available to Mercer County small businesses still hurting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The investment is thanks to the American Rescue Plan and will provide up to $500,000 in funds for impacted small businesses.

Congressman Kim Introduces and Helps Pass Legislation to Expand Small Businesses’ Access to Microloans

Early this year, Congressman Kim helped pass his bipartisan Microloan Transparency and Accountability Act to deliver greater transparency to the Microloan Program and to taxpayers about how their money is being spent by the SBA. We hear it first and foremost around the district, access to capital and resources is critical to our small businesses. Congressman Kim is committed to continuing to expand access to capital and resources and ensure entrepreneurs who need it most can access this support and have a fair shot at success.

Congressman Kim Emphasizes his Commitment to Supporting Local Black-Owned Businesses

In February, Congressman Kim visited Curate Noir and Glassy Brown Cookies in Moorestown Mall! Two Black-owned and local gems, the Congressman and the business owners discussed how to help their businesses thrive, including continuing to strengthen supply chains, expanding access to federal resources, and the importance of location for a business’ success.

Black-owned businesses are a gift to our community and scattered across the district. Black History Month is an important reminder of the historic barriers put on business owners of color and how important it is to keep pushing for them to have equitable access to capital, resources, and federal support.

Congressman Kim Visits Medford Small Business During Women’s History Month

Just this week, Congressman Kim spoke with Patricia, CEO and President of Jidan Cleaning based in Medford! They spoke about her path as an entrepreneur and the experiences of being a woman-owned and black-owned business.

The Congressman works to ensure more diverse small businesses and entrepreneurs from all backgrounds have the tools and resources they need to not just survive, but to thrive across New Jersey. Patricia’s advice for others trying to launch a business is “come to everything.”

Congressman Kim Speaks with Local Chambers of Commerce

The Congressman had the chance to welcome the Statewide Hispanic and New Jersey Pride Chambers of Commerce to Washington for a meeting about how to support our local small business community. The group spoke about ways to deliver New Jersey’s diverse small business community the resources they need to succeed.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Eastern Pennsylvania District Office invites entrepreneurs and small businesses to bi-weekly exclusive virtual Q&A sessions focusing on the various services, resources, and programs offered by SBA. This occurs virtually on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 12 PM.

Tax Season is Here!

As we approach the deadline to file taxes on April 18th, check out the IRS Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Center for resources for taxpayers who file Form 1040 or 1040-SR, Schedules C, E, F or Form 2106, as well as small businesses with assets under $10 million!
