Dear Friend, Tomorrow, at the same local time globally, millions of people around the world will mark Earth Hour. Please remember to turn off all lights and TVs, etc, from 8:30 until 9:30 PM. Get your candles ready for an hour of reflection, meditation, conversation or a quiet meal. Every year since 2008, global media has tracked reduced electricity use in this tiny act of solidarity. Sixty minutes of peace. An hour of lights out. It is fairly heart-breaking that in a climate emergency, an act so simple as an hour without lights is hard for so many of us. Earth Hour is clearly a token gesture. For that matter, so is Earth Day - April 22. As is Environment Week, June 1-7. Still, every act in climate solidarity matters. So too does every dollar given to support electing Green candidates. If you are able, please donate $60 ($1 for every minute) to help rebuild our party right now! DonateWe are also happy to take $600! What matters is taking that step and acting in solidarity with a growing Green global movement. Happy Earth Hour! Elizabeth and Jonathan Elizabeth E. May, O.C.
