** Northeastern Professor Ari Waldman to give keynote address at the Annual Update

We are excited to announce that Ari Waldman, Professor of Law and Computer Science at Northeastern University School of Law, will provide the keynote address at the Williams Institute's 22nd Annual Update Conference on Friday, April 14.
Professor Waldman studies how law and technology affect marginalized populations, focusing on privacy, misinformation, and the LGBTQ+ community. He serves as Faculty Director of Northeastern's Center for Law, Information and Creativity (CLIC).
Professor Waldman will speak as part of the Annual Update's free half-day conference, Contested Truths: LGBTQ Research in the Age of Misinformation ([link removed]) . His address will be followed by our Gala Awards Reception ([link removed]) , which will honor Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi with the Lifetime Impact Award, and Founders Dinner ([link removed]) .

** Welcome to Jason Rizzi, our new Senior Director of Development

Jason is passionate about the nonprofit sector, and he helps champion mission-driven work for a variety of causes as a volunteer. At the Williams Institute, he focuses on scaling funding and partnerships to help ensure that data inform the laws, policies, and judicial decisions that impact the LGBTQ community. He previously worked for Autism Partnership Foundation, JUST Capital, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Columbia University, and Hackley School. Jason holds an M.A. in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University.

This fellowship provides advanced graduate students, including recent master’s or Ph.D. graduates an opportunity to engage in research related to US-centered LGBTQI+ law and policy with Williams Institute scholars. Fellows will receive a stipend of $6,000 and will work at the Institute for approximately 8 weeks.
