Today we?re reporting a total of 81 additional positive COVID-19 cases and 91 additional recoveries for March 18-24. Today?s report includes 79 current cases and 2 older cases newly reported to the health district.????

To date, 782,219 tests have been administered in Galveston County.??

Sadly, we report two additional deaths today:???

A female, age range 81-90, passed away March 5. She had pre-existing medical conditions. She did not receive the updated bivalent booster.???

A female, age range 61-70, passed away March 10. She had pre-existing medical conditions. She did not receive the updated bivalent booster.?

As of March 24, 10,048 Galveston County residents have received their updated bivalent booster vaccine, 241,443 residents have received at least one vaccine but not the updated bivalent booster vaccine and 103,571 residents are not vaccinated.???????????

As of March 23, there are 5 Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) COVID-19 positive cases reported in Galveston County. For more information, please call 713-767-3000 or 211.??

To date, a total of 24,062 probable cases have been reported for Galveston County. As stated previously, probable cases are reported separate from confirmed cases. A probable case means a person tested positive for antigens or antibodies and also met the probable case definition from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Probable cases are not included in the county's confirmed case count because an antibody test and antigen test are not lab confirmed PCR tests.??
