John, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) needs volunteers to review the science instructional materials and textbooks that publishers will submit in April for state approval. |
Not sure if you can make it? Apply anyway! You can always decline the appointment if, for some reason, you end up unable to serve.
More details: TEA is asking for teachers, administrators, parents, business community members, and others with appropriate content knowledge to volunteer. The reviews will focus primarily on whether the textbooks align with curriculum standards the state board adopted in 2021. Reviewers can also call out factual errors they might find. You can identify your preferences for which grade levels and subject areas to review. TEA says: “Candidates must be available during June or July 2023 and be able to read on a computer screen for an extended period.”
Please let us know if you’ve applied to serve on a review team and whether or not you are appointed to one. Thank you for fighting for Texas students! With gratitude, |
