Dear friend,

EWG is fighting for your health, and we need your help. Candy corporations are fighting to keep using dangerous additives like Red Dye No. 3 and titanium dioxide in their products. A new bill in California would be the first in the nation to create a state-level ban on five different harmful food chemicals. But manufacturers from the candy and confectionery industry are trying to kill it.

If this bill passes in California, manufacturers would likely make their products safer for the entire country too!

Can we count on you to urge the candy industry to remove harmful food chemicals from their products and support A.B. 418 in California to ban five of these chemicals? Click here to sign our petition.

These harmful food chemicals include:

•
Red Dye No. 3, linked to cancer and behavioral problems in children
•
Brominated vegetable oil, linked to damage to the nervous system
•
Potassium bromate, linked to cancer
•
Propyl paraben, linked to hormone and reproductive system harm
•
Titanium dioxide, linked to DNA damage and harm to the immune system

Even at low doses, all of these chemicals present a well-documented risk in food. And they’ve all been prohibited from use in just about every processed food in the EU, despite the candy industry’s claims that there’s “no evidence” to support banning these chemicals.

It’s time for the candy industry to do right by its consumers. Click here to sign our petition urging the candy and confectionery industry to remove these five dangerous food chemicals from their products and support A.B. 418 in California.

It’s time to take action – to strike while the iron is hot and put as much pressure as we can on the candy industry to do the right thing.

Click here to sign our petition telling the candy and confectionery industry to REMOVE these five dangerous food chemicals from their products.

Thanks for standing with us, friend.
