NCRC Selected To Manage $175 Million Boost For Illinois Small Businesses Impacted By COVID

A new state grant fund called Back to Business (B2B) will provide grants to businesses in some of the hardest-hit sectors of the Illinois economy: food service, hospitality and the creative arts. The state grants will be administered in partnership with the NCRC Community Development Fund, (NCRC CDF), a U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution. “I am glad to see HUD has rolled back a harmful rule change made by the outgoing Trump administration in 2020. Strong fair housing enforcement is critical to ensuring equal rights and protecting individuals and communities from discrimination. HUD’s issuance of this rule is an important step in making it possible for effective future efforts by HUD, fair housing advocates and others to achieve justice through this critical element of civil rights law. MacKenzie Scott Sets New ‘Open Call’ To Donate $250 Million

Through her organization Yield Giving, Scott plans to make unrestricted $1 million donations to 250 nonprofits selected in the process, which she calls a “new pathway to support for organizations making positive change in their communities.” To apply, the nonprofits must have annual operating budgets larger than $1 million, but less than $5 million for at least two of the past five years.
