Thank you for being a part of Promise to Our Planet!
From Ertharin Cousin opening the show with a reminder of the theme of "Charting Progress, Celebrating Community," to the moving poem "the world ends in many ways, just not this one" read aloud by author D'mani Thomas, to the climate solutions road map concept laid out by Jon Foley at the event's close, Promise to Our Planet was filled with many moments that opened both mind and soul to our shared cause of creating solutions for a healthy planet.
As we cheered Climate Resilient Communities becoming its own nonprofit, and featured the 2023 Champions of Promise, the progress and community themes came full circle. The incredible energy, creativity, and resourcefulness of local leaders fighting for climate justice and for safer, more vibrant, and more sustainable communities couldn't be more timely.
We are so grateful to all of you who attended and brought your own vision for the future of our planet. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors and the many speakers who took the time to be with us. I'd also like to share my appreciation for our amazing emcee Katie Excoffier and our entire Board of Directors and staff team who work so hard to make our futures brighter. You may know that I'll be heading out on maternity leave in mid-April, and until I return, you're in the best of hands with our team.
If you missed the event, a recording will be out soon. (In it, you will also be able to view any additional breakout speakers that you might have missed.) Until then, you can check out our event recaps on Instagram or Twitter. We look forward to seeing you at next year's Promise to Our Planet!
