John, when Cory came to the defense of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson in her Senate Judiciary Committee hearing one year ago today, right-wing talking heads were quick to respond.

Their remarks were rude and ridiculous, to put it kindly.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham called it “a complete farce,” “discriminatory and demeaning,” and “As if somehow minorities couldn’t make it without Joe’s affirmative action, how insulting.”

Her colleague Tucker Carlson called Cory a “bad dude,” “remarkable actor,” a “fraud,” a “faker,” “weepy,” and “phony.” The list goes on.

After Republicans on the committee spent days making reckless insinuations against Justice Jackson, their allies in the far-right media made Cory pay the political price for coming to her defense. Multiple Fox News hosts devoted on-camera monologues to tearing Cory down and attempting to undermine his credibility.

This is how bullies operate, and with their leader Donald Trump facing possible indictment as he again runs for the presidency, their attacks will only get meaner and more vicious.
