Dear John —
As a friend of Rock the Vote, I’m excited to share some exciting news! Today we’re releasing an updated version of our white paper on Connected Voter Registration (Connected VR) [[link removed]] .
Similar to individuals using the IRS’ E-File system on sites like TurboTax or H&R Block to file their taxes, Connected VR enables voters to complete the entire registration process through third-party tools and websites.
Since the 2013 publication of our first white paper, we have worked with Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington – all of whom have adopted Connected VR – providing us with concrete insights and a roadmap for future states.

We’ve seen firsthand how much this helps voters – particularly young people and people of color – navigate the voter registration process, with registrants in Connected VR states making it onto the rolls 98-100% of the time (compared to only 60-70% of registrants in other states).

Looking ahead, approximately 8 million young people will turn 18 and become eligible to vote between now and the 2024 presidential election. Voter registration is critical to engaging this cohort and ensuring they have a seat at the table of our democracy.
That is a tremendous opportunity – and a challenge – and there isn’t a moment to spare! We need to bring Connected VR to more states in advance of the 2024 election. Will you read the report [[link removed]] and share it with others? This work cannot wait.
We’re so grateful to have supporters like you alongside us as we work to make sure all voters can participate in our democracy! Thank you for all you do.
