The Fiscal Impact of Immigration in the United States - Government spending in the United States is enormous. Federal and state governments spent over $9 trillion in 2022 on the welfare state, defense, health care, education, and other areas. Taxes and borrowing fund that spending, the latter being a delayed tax increase or spending reduction. Alex Nowrasteh of the CATO institute investigates this question and finds that immigrants pay more in taxes than they consume in benefits, on average.

Rep. Jackson Reintroduces Legislation To End Taxpayer-Funded Fake News - Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) introduces the No Partisan Radio and Partisan Broadcasting Services Act, or the NPR and PBS Act, which would end the federal government’s financial support of both National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). This legislation would prohibit federal funds from being used to support NPR or PBS, thereby preventing these outlets from pushing their radical-left agenda on the American people with taxpayer dollars.
