Friend,
This legislative session is shaping up to be especially cruel for LGBTQ+ communities. Currently, Texas Democratic legislators are fighting against a staggering 150 anti-LGBTQ+ bills this session. The rights of millions of our fellow Texans are on the line right now -- call your legislators NOW and tell them to vote NO on any bill that infringes on LGBTQ+ rights! [[link removed]]

From eliminating life-saving healthcare to banning books that mention LGBTQ+ communities in our schools, each bill seeks to make our LGBTQ+ neighbors second-class citizens instead of addressing everyday, kitchen-table issues that impact working families.
Here’s a glimpse at some of these bad anti-LGBTQ+ bills in both chambers:
🚨 Senate Bill 12: Restricts public drag performances
🚨Senate Bill 14: Bans kids from receiving any gender-affirming healthcare
🚨 Senate Bill 1601: Defunds public libraries that host drag story hour
🚨 House Bill 23: Bans trans kids playing sports
🚨 House Bill 900: Bans books referencing LGBTQ+ communities in public schools
🚨 House Bill 3164: Bans diversity, equity and inclusion offices in public universities
Instead of focusing on bigoted, regressive pieces of legislation, our lawmakers should be creating policies that can actually improve the lives of our kids and our communities -- like banning weapons of war from our streets and making it easier for low-income parents to put food on the table.
