First the radical anti-abortion activists sued us in the Texas Supreme Court with the help of Attorney General Ken Paxton. We won.

Now the police union in San Antonio has pledged to spend $1.8 MILLION to spread lies about our ballot initiative — all to block reforms that would decriminalize abortion, decriminalize marijuana, end no-knock police raids and chokeholds, and prioritize citations over arrests for non-violent crimes. 

Our opponents tried to beat us in the courts and lost. Now they’re spending millions on misinformation to defeat us. But we have something more powerful: the people.

Team, when we launched the San Antonio Justice Charter, we knew we’d be up against powerful forces. This initiative would decriminalize abortion and marijuana, and overhaul police practices—all to make our communities safer. 

Last week we defended our initiative against anti-abortion activists in front of the Texas Supreme Court—and we won. But now we have to do the important work of getting out the vote.
