John, our team celebrates trailblazing Democratic women all year long. But Muslim Women’s Day is just around the corner so, before Women’s History Month ends, we want to highlight some of our Muslim Emerge alums. These incredible women are breaking barriers, inspiring our communities, and winning historic firsts across the country!

State Senator Aisha Wahab (Emerge California) is the first Muslim and first Afghan American elected to California’s State Senate. Centered in service to her community, Wahab is a dedicated advocate for all Californians struggling to make ends meet. On the campaign trail, she pledged to fight for access to affordable housing, expanding health care coverage, and helping small business owners succeed.

A granddaughter of refugees, State Representative Ruwa Romman (Emerge Georgia) made history as the first Muslim woman elected to the Georgia House of Representatives and the first Palestinian American elected to office in the state of Georgia. Before winning her own race, Romman volunteered in every election cycle since 2014 to help flip Georgia blue. Now she’s lifting her voice to protect essential rights, opportunities, and lifesaving health care for all.

State Representative Sadaf Jaffer (Emerge New Jersey) broke barriers as the first woman of South Asian descent to serve as mayor in New Jersey. She is also the first Muslim woman ever to serve as mayor in the entire United States! Rising to higher office, Jaffer has continued to serve her community as part of the New Jersey General Assembly – and pave the way for more bold Democratic women!

Emerge is a champion for women of the New American Majority. And, Muslim women are at the forefront of every major challenge we face today – from fighting back against hateful policies to securing access to lifesaving health care.

But none of our crucial work is possible without your support. So please, John: Will you donate $10 or more to Emerge now to empower MORE bold Democratic women to run, win, and lead at every level of our government?
