You deserve all of the credit for this victory. But the fight isn’t over.

Hi John,
You made politicians listen and they voted AGAINST the escalator tax hike.
The House of Commons voted for a motion opposing the escalator tax hike by a count of 170 to 149 on March 22.
You deserve all of the credit for this victory. But the fight isn’t over.
Thousands of taxpayers like you emailed or called their members of Parliament and told them to vote against the escalator tax hike.
This is a big deal. The escalator tax is a dangerous policy because it automatically hikes taxes every year. Right now, it’s only on alcohol. But even if you wouldn’t touch a drop, you know bureaucrats will apply escalator taxes to other things if they get the chance.
The escalator tax is there for one reason: it sidesteps democracy.
But Parliament isn’t letting the bureaucrats get away with this so easily.
The Conservatives tabled a motion calling on the government to “cancel its April 1, 2023, tax increase on beer, wine and spirits.”
And the overwhelming majority of MPs voted against the escalator tax hike, including the NDP and Bloc.
But the fight isn’t over.
The government could try to ignore the motion. You need to make sure they can’t. So you need to do two things.
First, check to see how your MP voted. Just click this LINK: [link removed]
Second, email Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and tell him to respect Parliament’s vote and scrap the escalator tax in next week’s budget. Here’s his email address:

Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
Sincerely,

PS: It only takes a minute to email the prime minister and tell him to scrap the tax hike:
