Josh Green for Hawaii
Aloha Friend,

In case you missed it, last Wednesday marked Governor Josh Green's 100th day in office!

Since taking office, Governor Green has already taken bold action on the issues that matter most to the people of Hawaii, like housing, homelessness, reducing cost of living, and protecting the environment. The list of accomplishments is long, but we want to take a moment to recognize some of the most significant measures.

In his first 100 days in office, Governor Green has already:
  • Proposed an investment of over $1 billion in housing for families and essential workers in our state to address the affordable housing shortage;

  • Signed an emergency proclamation to streamline housing projects while protecting environmental and cultural resources;

  • Introduced new legislation including the Green Affordability Plan to reduce taxes on working families and subsidize child care through major tax credits, and a Green Fee on visitors to protect our beaches, parks, and other tourist sites;

  • Requested $30 million in Ohana Zone funding to provide housing and necessary services to the homeless;

  • Started construction on the first kauhale village for the homeless on a neighbor island, in Kealakehe on Hawaii island, with more to come statewide;

  • Created a $100 million Climate Impact Fund to address climate change while improving infrastructure, the economy, and further conservation efforts;

  • Announced the formation of the Governor’s Commission on Water Safety to ensure that Red Hill is drained and shut down for good as quickly and safely as possible, and Hawaii’s water supply is protected;

  • Created a plan to expand healthcare access by dedicating new funds for statewide Medicaid payments and investing in training programs and loan repayment for healthcare providers;

  • Released nearly $50 million in Grants-In-Aid to nonprofit groups across the state, including the Domestic Violence Action Center, the Hawaii Blood Bank, and the Hawaii Humane Society;

  • Proposed a new Educator Tax Credit so that Hawaii’s teachers can receive a $500 credit to support our students;

  • And there’s much more to come!

Imagine how much more we will accomplish in the next 100 days, and in the 100 days after that!

The progress we can make is unlimited. Please join us in showing our gratitude for Governor Green’s hard work by wishing him a happy first 100 days here →
