Start your New Year off by committing to a positive and inclusive environment. Egale specializes in providing inclusion training across sectors. Our variety of inclusive workshops and e-modules cover everything from the basics to advanced training on specific areas of LGBTQI2S inclusion – perfect for workplaces, schools, sports and more.

Inclusive Workplaces Training
Our Inclusive Workplaces training provides participants with knowledge and skills related to the diverse identities and experiences of LGBTQI2S individuals in the workplace. Throughout the in-person, interactive session our facilitators use real life examples, team building, and other engaging activities and discussions to help participants develop an appreciation for the various ways in which social norms and dynamics can impact LGBTQI2S and other minorities in the workplace. Participants leave our training with tools and skills to make their workplace safer, welcoming, and more inclusive for LGBTQI2S people. Plus, it’s HRPA certified. Book a Training

Inclusive Classrooms
Egale has a number of free resources that have been developed to support educators who are dedicated to building inclusion in their classrooms. Below are a few for educators on a budget… because who isn’t?

Draw-The-Line Training
This free, in-person training is offered for both educators and students. It is designed to engage educators and/or students in a dialogue about discrimination towards trans people, particularly in a school setting. Our facilitators work with participants to challenge common myths about violence and discrimination towards trans people. Participants leave the training equipped with the tools, resources and confidence on how to intervene safely and effectively to Draw-The-Line against transphobic violence. Book a Free Training

Court Adjourned!

We've had another win for legal rights. In a decision released earlier this month, the British Columbia Court of Appeal unanimously held that a mature minor can access gender-affirming medical care considered by medical professionals to be in his best interests, notwithstanding his father’s objections. The Court affirmed that longstanding principles governing consent to medical treatment for mature minors apply without difficulty to gender-affirming medical care.

Egale considers the Court of Appeal’s decision a positive precedent in many respects regarding transgender rights. In its intervention, Egale stressed how parental verbal abuse is routinely proscribed in the family law context where the interests and safety of children are paramount, and that, to license such abuse would unravel many critical protections for vulnerable youth. By effectively maintaining the restrictions on abuse found at first instance, the Court of Appeal affirmed this important principle, thereby upholding important protections for vulnerable LGBTQI2S youth.
